How To Make Aromatherapy Wraps
The sense of smell is very important to people and has many therapeutic effects. Smell is used by babies to identify their mothers. The smell of flowers can reduce depression in the elderly

Numerous scents and oils have been found to have beneficial and health results. These include eucalyptus, citrus, lavender, clove, bergamot orange, Roman chamomile, neroli, mandarin, sandalwood, palmarosa, geranium, and West Indian lemongrass.

It is no wonder, then, that people want to make aromatherapy wraps, or aromatherapy pillows, to have something that is beautiful yet healthy. Hand made aromatherapy wraps also make great gifts.

There is not size or shape you need to follow to make an aromatherapy wrap. For the beginner, a square or rectangular size is the easiest and most common shape.

First, you need a piece of fabric. A six inch square will do. Use a fabric made from cotton, linen, or other natural fibers. Once the fabric is selected, you can decorate your aromatherapy wrap with anything you think appropriate. If giving the aromatherapy wrap as a gift, consider what colors the person likes best, and their personal hobbies.

Second, fold your fabric in half.

Third, sew together three sides, leaving one open side. A sewing machine will be fastest, but you can also do this by hand if you make sure your stitches are close together. Do not leave large gaps, or holes, between the stitches.

Fourth, fill the pouch with rice. A rule of thumb is one cup of rice for every twenty square inches of fabric. For every cup of rice add the equivalent of a tea bag of your favorite smelling herbs and spices.

Fifth, sew closed the remaining side.

Congratulations. You have made your first aromatherapy wrap.
